...Koala's really DO roam Aussie Streets LOL...

Finishing the Old Year in the manner I wish to start to continue
the New Year...Blogging more frequently.
I had such a hard time overcoming a storage issue with my laptop, I hadn't been able to
blog about our goings on here in Adelaide.
Storage problemo fixed
for the sole purpose of storing my photos.
It was my bargain buy of the post Christmas sales.
$120AUS...a savings off of the ticketed price of $100AUS

OK...a little feel good story from yesterday.

We were out an about in the Adelaide Hills yesterday,
with some friends that have relocated to Adelaide.
We were at a local Wine and Tapas Bar

I was enjoying a Latte and thinking about my dear friend Lisa.
Thinking about how lovely it would be if she was enjoying the gorgeously sunny day
AND a coffee with me.

Something happened that had everyone on the shopping strip buzzing.

Yes we live in Australia.

Yes we do have Kangaroos AND Koalas here....

....HOWEVER, they do not roam our streets
as presumed by many people overseas.

☺☺☺BOY did this kick THAT theory in the pants LOL ☺☺☺

A local helps the little dude safely across the road.

He does a little window shopping.

He stopped and allowed Belle and I close enough to take a photo.

Then shimmied up a tree, struck a beautiful pose,
then hiked up a little higher to catch a few zzzzzzzz's

I was gobsmacked...but remembered my point and shoot tucked away in my bag.
I even remembered it had a video function.
Please excuse the ooohing and aaaahing,
and the dreadful shaking at times,
it is after all only a point and shoot,
However, I for one am absolutely rapt I have this captured on film and video☺
I giggle when I hear Belle's belly laugh.
She and I were in awe.
What a fantastic way to end a great day.

Yes I know it's not WAS somewhere in the world when this happened though and I just want to let Rachel and Mr Daddy over at Once Upon A Miracle, that whilst I have been outta sight, THEY have not been outta mind :0)

Now to jump into the New Year feet first.

Thanks for dropping by
Have a safe and Happy New Year
my friends

It has been a hectic couple of days.
Finish school, tidied up and got my Art Room ready for next year!
Tidied our house, inside AND out...cyclone was heading for us!
{{with help, thank you magical Penny for attacking, and taming our fridge eewwww}}
{{Thank you Juzz for numerous tip runs, as a result of the cyclone clean-up outside}}
I will have a sparkly clean house to return too. L♡VE IT
Now all I have to do is go through the mounds of clothes left behind and discard those that are
no longer wearable ((too small, to stained or too daggy LOL))
and all will be wonderful in my world.
We jetted out of Hedland yesterday morning...just missing cyclone Lawrence which was threatening Heddy {{{phew}}}
Landed in Perth....caught up with my beautiful niece Ashleigh, her Mum and Ashleigh's boyfriend Brian, briefly though...we had a couple of hours layover in Perth.
Then flew onto Adelaide. Home with the Grandparents and doting Uncle D
for Christmas and New Year!
Aaahhhhhh{{{sigh of contentment}}}
We flew in @ 9.30pm.
Had a slow start to the day today...hey, it's holidays LOL ;0P
Enjoyed Good Coffee@home ((Love Mum and Dad's coffee machine mmmmm))

...Lisa, I'm gearing up for our Chrissy Coffee and Cake Chat :0)
Took this photo this afternoon Lisa. Brighton Beach looking out to Brighton Jetty.
I was out scouting for the perfect place this afternoon for our next get together,
after I had an amazing hour and fifteen minute full body massage {{{sighs}}}
{{Anna have AMAZING hands and an equally lovely heart.}}
♡♡♡I enjoy our sessions♡♡♡
Very very nurturing and therapeutic
Our coffee sessions Lisa AND Anna's massage sessions, that is LOL!
♥♥One followed by the other would be pure magic I think♥♥

Now to start my holiday list of things to do....hmmmmm.
Thinking Thinking

Back tomorrow with a little more info about my bloggy absence
and perhaps I'll even have a few things to add to my
'Things to do whilst on holiday" list.
Art Galleries are up there on my places to visit list :0)
I'm sure I shall find a plethora of places to keep me busy if I try hard enough LMAO!
Treasure your true friends this Festive season and kick the rest of em to the curb I say!
Don't waste a precious drop of energy on anyone who is NOT deserving of your attention.
Lavish it on those who are.
Count your blessings.
I know I have MANY to be grateful for.

Thanks for dropping by

☼☼☼School's Out For Summer☼☼☼

The end of another school year.
If you kids think you've got something to jump up and down about,
You have got NO idea how much we teachers
are looking forward to the holidays!

Time to recharge
Time to reconnect
Time to rejoice

Hellooooo Holidays
....well it won't really be a holiday for me until I've washed and packed clothes
AND done some serious tidying up.
It's cyclone season, and we are on cyclone watch currently.
Cyclone Lawrence is doing a dance to the North of us.
We are experiencing rain....oh yeeeeah.
L♡VE it.
Though there are a few things we need to secure,
so we can holiday with out stressing :0)
✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈ ✈
Watch out Adelaide..Cyclone 'Byrnes Brood' is heading your way LOL

Hope you've had a grand day.

OK OK So today was NOT a plethora of posts....HOWEVER!!!!!

I vowed to post...
I aimed high, didn't quite get to the 'BlogFest'
I did however, do the best I could....
I made it on-line, I made it to my Blog, I uploaded some photos
✌✌✌Now to get back in the grooooove✌✌✌
Or to find my new groove....which I feel is more appropriate at this point in time.
To bring you up to speed would take far longer than I have tonight...
...yes, I didn't get to the computer until late late...but I still made it.
Yay for small accomplishments...{{{{applause}}}}
OK...I have decided to go with the positives.
and throw a curve ball in every now and then because.
Sheesh, talking about curve balls, I have dodged a few curve balls this past month,
one or two got me fair and square
on my proverbial 'bum cheeks',
stung like a mongrel each time the one or two made it past my defenses I can tell you!
The 'senses' are far sharper.
It's going to take a lot to get one past me from here on in.
I won't say never, I don't think anyone is born THAT lucky LOL :0)
SO...the first positive.
My birthday came and went, the day was a bit of a fizzer {{{sighs}}}
However the positive, it would appear my birthday heralded the end of
an absolute cr@p fortnight,
and saw the beginning of a new and more positive 'Life Chapter' for me.
I wasn't born until the evening and by the time the evening of my birthday came about,
♡♡♡I started to feel a weight lift♡♡♡
My birthday day was so very hectic, so much so that the letterbox was not checked
until the following morning.
I found a Parcel Pickup notification in the mail...dated with my birthday's date!
I was charged with excitement, the anticipation had been killing me...well not really, but you get what I mean...I had become curiouser and curiouser since my darling
Had told me there was a surprise on it's way to me.

The first surprise...there were TWO parcels!
The bigger parcel is my surprise from Lisa.
Truly I was stunned to silent tears of gratefulness.
I cannot explain how this woman has touched my life and what an impact
she has had on me as a person.
I am so much richer for having her in my life.
{{{Mwah Mwah Mwah~blows kisses}}}

The Second surprise...I was SO not expecting what was in the box.
My mind had been wracked for weeks wondering what Lisa was up to.
She had asked many questions...well not that many but she asked a few,
my curiosity was roused LOL.
I first lay my eyes on a black and white pattern that reminds me of two things
that make me think of Lisa and I.
Two things that are different,
that each of us owns
that are strangely similar.
Then I notice the little touches that made this 'gift'
that much more special.
The card identifying the talented lady that made my precious gift.
Thank you Monique
My 'treasure' even is the basis for a post over at Monique's blog
It even can be viewed on her Flikr Page...TWICE...ooh my treasure MY treasure ☺
♥I felt so special♥

Monique even took the time to pen me a note explaining how my 'treasure'
had come to be....and a lump developed in my throat.
Note the black and white pattern on Monique's Monogrammed note, though you can't see the M at the top of the page...oops.
Can you see the connections I was making? The above photo is one of my favorite cups.
Lisa and I have shared cyber coffees with these have to imagine she has hers in her hand...because that's what I do LMAO☻☺
So much like two sides of the same coin.
Black and White
She's blonde, I'm brunette!
They just 'Go Together'!
Like Lisa and I
There's this.
This is where I made the initial connection!
I love the Demask Pattern...It reminds me of Photos of the Pedersen Family.

It reminds me of the love, dedication and devotion they share for each other.
Mr Pedersen, you R✩CK also,
it takes a special kids of man to pull off Red Roses like you can:0)
I am grateful Lisa has shared these 'moments' and more from her life.
I am grateful Lisa has been 'gifted' to me by the Universe.
Thank You Universe

I L♡VE My Friendship Minky
That's what I have named it...
One, because it is lined with a plush minky fabric.
Minky sounds cute and cuddly
and the fabric IS soft, cute (check out the polka dots) and snuggly

It is my 'Friendship' Minky and just a little more precious
☝☝☝☝because of this very special little addition.☝☝☝☝
Lisa had Monique add a special 'message' panel on the Minky side of the throw.
It's our little thing, it's how we sign off our posts and our emails.
I cried happy tears.
Sue me I'm hormonal :0)
The other box contained a 16GB Purple 5th generation iPod Nanno
The one with the video function✔✔✔FRIGGIN' AWESOME!
More was FREE.
Well sort of.
I checked my Flybuy Points
and wooohooooo
I had enough to trade in and get the iPod.
The extra extra arrived, amazingly, some ten days after I made the on-line transaction.
I was warned to expect up to a five week wait!
Double Score
Can I get an Oh Yeeeeeah!

And That My Friends,
Is the Beginning of my catch up.
There is SO MUCH more to come!

Thanks for dropping by.
Thanks for being patient.
Thanks Thanks

You must be feeling SO abandoned.....☹

I have NOT fallen off of the face of the Earth, just had a hard time finding my feet.
I have much to catch up very VERY much.
I have L♡VE to send to my very special friend, to whom I constantly send
'All the L♡VE in the Universe" too....yes my dear dear Lisa.
Computer glitches fixed. Life glitches...meh, they are still being nutted out!
Mad...absolutely MAD things happening that have left my head spinning.
The spinning has stopped and as soon as I can see straight again, I shall fill you all in.
I have my first day free in so very long tomorrow SO tomorrow I shall endeavour to bring you up to speed with multiple posts and a plethora of pictures

...On this Rememberance Day....

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years contemn*.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."
Quote from "Lest we Forget" by Laurence Binyon

10th Light Horse Brigade
(front row first on the right)

Charles Henry George Dawes
2 August 1910-18 July 1970
❤My Maternal Grandfather❤

Poem by Laurence Binyon

With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,
England mourns for her dead across the sea.
Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit,
Fallen in the cause of the free.

Solemn the drums thrill: Death august and royal
Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres.
There is a music in the midst of desolation
And a glory that shines upon our tears.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncountered:
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years contemn*.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;
They sit no more at familiar tables at home;
They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;
They sleep beyond England's foam.

But where our desires are and our hopes profound,
Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight,
To the innermost heart of their own land they are known
As the stars are known to the Night;

As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust,
Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain;
As the stars are starry in the time of our darkness,
To the end, to the end they remain.

They shall grow not we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them, nor the years contemn*
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.

* "contemn" original interpretation for "contempt"

Thank you to those who have served their country.

Tuesday Tease....True Story

Short But Sweet

True Story Tuesday

I went on a brief sea-side holiday with my family.
I normally pack everything EXCEPT the kitchen sink,
with grand ideas of doing SO much more.
I inevitably come home from holidays
feeling like I've somehow failed myself
for not achieving more in my 'break'!!!
So this break, I gave it up...I let go, I just let inspiration come to me.
I welcomed in with open arms

I have been having withdrawals NOT doing any art that was for me...just me NOT a bunch of other peoples children,
instead of nurturing the child within...
my own inner child.
I even played with my, my camera and my wireless remote :0)

So this time all I took were two pad, one black & one white
A white chinagraph pencil.
I black and white paint pen
and a fineline black marker!
Water paints in a tin and a few paint brushes.

The water paints and I didn't really 'gel' on this break
The Chinagraph pen and I had fun :0)

It was nice having inspiration at my doorstep :0)

Can you spot the inspiration for the
second picture in amongst
this flotsam and jetsam??

I went away on a short break
and I actually did a little bit of art.

Pop on over to
and see what tales others
have to tell Rachel and Mr Daddy
